Dr. Roger Sanjek is an anthropologist with extensive expertise in cultural anthropology, urban ethnography, and the anthropology of migration.

His research integrates long-term fieldwork, comparative analysis, and interdisciplinary methods to examine social identities, community formation, and institutional change in diverse urban settings with a major interest and extensive fieldwork in the Elmhurst/Corona neighborhood of Queens New York, the mostly ethnically diverse section of New York City.

He has a strong record of peer-reviewed publications, funded research projects, and graduate mentorship, and he brings a practical commitment to applied anthropology and public engagement.

His community and egalitarian activism is evidenced and confirmed by the following non-academic acknowledgments and awards:
