The over 4,400 works in this collection are currently housed in sixteen floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in Dr. Sanjek’s New York City residence. Truly global in scope and historic in content, they reflect the depth of his interest in both the roots and the ongoing development of anthropology as a contemporary science.

The books are largely organized by region, but some cross-territorial topics and themes emerge throughout as categories of their own.
